DDM Ascend application development is designed around the concept of privacy and security. We have developed
policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) standards. All of our online communications are encrypted using the industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) 128-bit encryption, verified by Network Solutions. A Secure Sockets Layer Certificate creates an encrypted link between a web site and a visitor's web browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web site and the browser remains private and secure. All data is kept behind a central login system that stores user credentials using 128-bit encryption, which helps to eliminate user spoofing and unauthorized data access. In addition, we employ a rotating password scheme in compliance with HIPAA policies.
Our system security does not stop at login. All data is presented on an ‘as needed’ basis, meaning that users only have access to read or modify the data to which they are expressly permitted. The Corporate version of Symantec Norton Antivirus protects the network against worms and all known viruses. Web applications, as well as internal applications and data, are protected by a Nokia firewall device running the latest software from industry leader Check Point Software technologies. Applications and data are run on servers' hot swappable hard drives in a Raid 5 configuration and are backed up three times a day and stored nightly in a secure offsite location in-order to prevent any loss of data. Applications are developed in Microsoft Visual Studio and written with integrity and security in mind.
Within our secure web-based data sites, we limit access to approved staff and use established protocols to ensure the security and confidentiality of information posted to our sites.
